Mobile phone providers commonly lock their phones so they can only be used on their own networks, and not on those of competing carriers.

If you’re unsure whether your phone is locked or not, please contact your mobile carrier. After a period of time, a mobile provider might agree to unlock the phone upon request, usually charging a small fee. Alternatively, you can purchase the Breeze Phone, our all-in-one unlocked GSM phone.

Once a mobile phone is unlocked, you are free to insert other SIM cards into the handset and use it on other networks. To access the Roam Mobility network on your own unlocked phone, simply insert the Roam SIM Card, activate online and purchase a plan.
