Gently break the Roam Mobility SIM out of the plastic card, and place it in the SIM cardholder. Remember to insert your SIM card according to the illustration that you find close to the SIM cardholder. Please refer to your phone’s user manual for detailed instructions.

How do I confirm that the newly-installed Roam Mobility SIM card is working?

Turn on your phone. The Roam Mobility SIM card will attempt to connect to a local mobile network provider in your area automatically. Once the Roam Mobility SIM card is connected to any local network provider, you will see the name of the network you are connected to on your display screen, along with a roaming icon. This means your SIM card is working and that you are connected to the Roam Mobility network.

How do I activate my Global Roam Mobility number (UK +44 number)?

Your Global Roam Mobility number is automatically activated when you activate your service.

How do I activate my USA Roam Mobility number (USA +1 number)?

You do not need to activate the USA Roam Mobility number if you do not plan to access the Roam Mobility network from within the US. Only activate your USA number once and before you intend to use it. To activate your USA number, dial *160# from your mobile phone (containing your Roam Mobility SIM card). You will receive a text message providing you with your USA Roam Mobility number. This number begins with 1.

Why do I need a Global and a USA number?

Your Roam Mobility service comes with two numbers, a Global Roam Mobility number (+44 number) and a USA Roam Mobility number (+1 number). Either number can be used by your friends, family and colleagues worldwide to call you or send you SMS (text messages) no matter where you are.

However, you will usually want them to use your Global Roam Mobility number, whether you are in the USA or abroad, because doing so will provide you with the most competitive rates, including free incoming calls in 65 countries around the world and free incoming calls within the USA.* When you are within the US, you may choose to use your USA Roam Mobility number; however, calls made to your USA Roam Mobility number will incur a $0.25 USD charge per minute when receiving a call in the USA or any other country.

NOTE: In order to receive free incoming calls within the USA with your Global number, you must first select your USA Service Profile. Get more information on your USA Service Profile and other Roam Mobility Roaming Profiles below.

What is a SIM Roaming Profile?

Your Roam Mobility SIM card contains three Profiles: Global Roaming, USA Service and Prime Roaming. By choosing the right profile for the right situation, you will ensure that you get the best incoming and outgoing phone rates possible.

  1. Global Roaming Profile: Use this profile in all countries outside the USA and Italy. When using this profile, your Caller ID will present your Global Roam Mobility number (+44 number).
  2. USA Service Profile: Use this profile when you are in the USA. When your USA Service Profile is selected, you will receive free incoming calls within the USA when callers use your Global (+44) phone number. When using this profile, your Caller ID will present your USA Roam Mobility number (+1 number).
  3. Prime Roaming Profile: Use this profile when you are in Italy. How do I change the Roaming Profile selected on my phone?

Once your Roam Mobility SIM card is installed in your handset, a “SIM Services” feature will appear within your phone handset menu. You will be able to select the profile you need using this “SIM Service” feature. Please refer to the Roam Mobility Quick Start Guide that came with your phone package, or download the User Guide for more information.

What is a preferred GSM network?

If your phone has connected to a local GSM network but you cannot make or receive calls then it is possible that the GSM network provider you have connected to is not a Roam Mobility partner. Simply switch GSM network by manually selecting your GSM network using your handset. Most handsets provide this feature in the Settings menu under Network.
