Can I use my own phone number on the Roam Mobility system?

No, your Canadian phone number is tied to your Canadian network service and therefore subject to your mobility company’s regular roaming rates. Because Roam Mobility connects you directly to a US network (avoiding roaming charges), you’ll need to use the Roam Mobility US number that we issue to you when you register your SIM card or Breeze phone.

Your Roam Mobility US number is yours to keep as long as you use the service once per year. Consider leaving a voice mail message on your Canadian service to let your contacts know your US number.

You can also forward your Canadian number to your US number, but make sure you have a call-forwarding package from your Canadian carrier in place before you travel. In addition, you’ll need a long-distance plan on your Canadian number, because calls forwarded to a US number are classified as long distance.
