The Spring Equinox inspires many traditions over the world, though few are as exciting as the illumination of the Mayan pyramid of Chichen Itza in the Mexican Yucatán.

SXSW is rapidly approaching, and hype is at an all-time high.  What would you rather see, Jay-Z at the Amex Sync Show, or at the Jay-Z show? (We realize pitting another artist against him is a long shot and terribly unfair).

When traveling as a photographer, packing all your essential equipment and day to day shooting can become quite complicated and overwhelming. Juggling expensive equipment, multiple accessories and yet being able to access all of it at a moment’s notice is critical. As a documentary photographer, I will be offering my best tips for keeping travel imaging trouble free.

When it comes to packing style, most people fall into one of two categories - the over-packer, or the "I only brought two t-shirts".  Since neither approach is ideal, we've compiled a quick list for packing reference. Especially for those gearing up for a March Break trip to somewhere sunny, take note.

It's alway good to have a few go-to romantic travel destinations in your back pocket, especially when you have a special somebody to impress, or a question to pop.  Below are our favorite romantic destinations within the USA; we think you will agree with why these cities made the cut:

Depending on the area and neighbourhoods you will be visiting, preparing yourself and your bags for unfortunate situations can save you a lot of trouble.  Even if you don’t think you will need to prepare for the worst, it’s always a good idea to take a few precautions.  After all, if you lose a credit card or your ID, things can get very complicated.

The 24^th annual SXSW conference, of Austin Texas, is one of the most influential, exciting conferences held annually in the USA. The SXSW festival features three legs of entertainment: interactive (which include keynotes on changes in media, technology revolutions and social sharing platforms, to name a few), film and music- all rolled within one super 10 day event. Subsequently, this festival attracts some of the most innovative brands, creative innovators and emerging artists from all over the world, both as performers or general attendees.

Chicago’s Field Museum may not be at the top of your mental list of museums to see, but it features some of the most intriguing traveling exhibits to hit the USA. Being one of America’s premier natural history museums is certainly a plus. Along with spying on 3D films, you can explore the Department of Anthropology, Botany, Zoology, Geology and the Environment, Culture and Conservatism area. But the highlight for us would definitely be meeting “Sue”, the world’s largest complete Tyrannosaurus skeleton ever discovered.
